What We Do
Marine Rescue Coffs Harbour provides safety and rescue services for anyone on our local waters. Operated by trained volunteers, our service combines emergency response, prevention, preparedness and community education to support safe boating year-round.
Whether assisting with a routine log-on or responding to an emergency, our focus remains the same — protecting lives and supporting the boating community.
Our work involves:
- Monitoring marine radios and helping boaters log on and off safely
- Responding to emergencies, breakdowns and incidents on local waters
- Training volunteer crews to meet Marine Rescue NSW’s operational and safety standards
- Providing local safety information to help prevent incidents
- Maintaining vital rescue assets including vessels, radios and our base
- Supporting community events and providing education to promote safe boating
Marine Rescue Coffs Harbour is on the radios and on standby every day of the year, supporting our coastal community it needs us.

Marine Rescue Coffs Harbour relies on people from the local community to carry out this work. From operational roles on the water and on the radios to essential support roles behind the scenes, our volunteers are central to everything we do.
Full training is provided, and boating experience is welcome but not required.
